These children of Keturah could not remain in Canaan with Abraham and his promised son because all this land was his child’s, so they were sent away from Canaan to the east near where the Amorites were living:
Genesis 25:1-6
“… while he [Abraham] was still living, he gave gifts to the sons of his concubines and sent them away from his son Isaac to the land of the east.”
They lived near Mesopotamia close to where Abraham had originally come from: Harran. Eventually the sons got married and they had families of their own, then these sons' descendants formed into many nations:
Jokshan had two sons named Sheba and Dedan:
Genesis 25:3
“Jokshan was the father of Sheba and Dedan;…”
Dedan also had children, and his descendants formed many groups of people:
Genesis 25:3
“The descendants of Dedan were the Ashurites, the Letushites and the Leummites.”
Midian also got married and had 5 sons:
Genesis 25:4
“The sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanok, Abida and Eldaah.”
Midian’s sons had their own children, and his descendants became known as Midianites and eventually then formed a nation in the east close to Canaan called Midian.
The rest of the son's children not really mentioned (Zimran, Medan, Ishbak, and Shuah) along with the sons mentioned (Jokshan and Midian) seemed to have been all called Minnaites and also seemed to have formed a nation called Minnai near Mesopotamia they were also called “the eastern peoples”.
All these nations were descendants of Abraham and Keturah (they were Abrahamic peoples):
Genesis 25:4
“…All these were descendants of Keturah…”
Minnai was a famous and very powerful nation in the ancient Mideast, though they were not openly blessed by God like Ishmael was, but because they were also Abraham’s offspring they were also blessed like Ishmael and became a great and powerful nation, but they also were not the heirs of the covenant: only Isaac was.
